Blown head gasket number one cylinder

I wish there was an easy way, but it is somewhat of a big job. You can't just remove the cylinder head to replace the gasket. Instead, the top of the engine needs to be removed to access the head bolts. Additionally, the timing chain will need removed and the camshafts. The camshafts block the cylinder head bolts. That's why they need to be removed.

Okay, I attached all the directions in the order I feel you will need below. It starts with the removal of the intake manifolds (both upper and lower). Then to timing chain removal and replacement (it's very important that you have the timing correct before trying to turn the engine). Last is cylinder head removal.

Because of everything that needs to be removed, I would recommend replacing both head gaskets, but that's up to you. Also, the timing chain info indicates the removal of the crankshaft gear. I don't feel that will be necessary, but when you get to that point, let me know if you need help.

Unfortunately, I don't have a video for this specific engine. I'm really sorry about that. What I can tell you is once the top end is off, you have a lot more access to the head and it isn't as bad as you would expect. However, the most frustrating part for me is that all of these need to have the timing chain removed, and then the cams need to be removed. LOL, nothing is as easy as it once was.

The results of the head gasket sealer are mixed to say the least.

It has worked on some occasions and could be an avenue that might be worth exploring. As the other option is the head gasket replacement.
Keep in mind, which is there is warpage on the cylinder head the sealant will not work.
