The truck has super high oil press. Like 80 plus. At idle has blown the oil filter housing gasket twice now. So, i guess my question is what's causing high oil pressure. And what to do about it. Should i pull the oil pan (pain in the A..) and ck oil pump high pressure relief valve. Or could i add something like kerosene to maybe de-sludge. And if it's the pump what are the steps to jack up motor and drop the pan. Anyway, thanks for all your help.

Hi,

It sounds like the oil filter bypass valve has failed. The valve is located where the oil filter is attached.

If you look below, I attached the directions for replacing the valve. I'm not sure how easy it will be to get one, but they should still be available since the engine is still produced.

Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Take care,

joe
