Blower motor quit working installed new one still does not work

Hello, sorry to hear about your issue, does your car have automatic A/C? such as you can set a certain temperature in the car or does it just have a dial for hot and cold? and can you please get me the VIN number, so i can find the correct system.

Vin # 1G6EL12YXYU154213. Has digital read out for setting temperature. after checking little more into it I found no power on the gray wire which I believe might be the signal wire. Please bear with me this is my first time on any auto repair site.

So this should be the correct model, you should have battery power on the red wire, the grey wire is the control wire going to the heater and A/C programmer. Start by checking this 50amp fuse labeled INDVERT. It should be in the engine compartment fuse box. Its a big maxi fuse. Make sure its not burnt and check that red wire at the blower for power.

The black wire at the blower is the ground wire, you can check this by hooking a test light to battery positive and touch the black wire, if the ground is good the light will light up. Or you can use a multi-meter and do the same thing, battery positive and touch the black wire, you should read battery power.

Red wire has 11.8 volts. ground is good nothing on gray and all fuses are good.

Okay, so here is your next test: set the blower on low setting and recheck the grey wire at the blower for any voltage, (so we know you're probably not going to see any). If no voltage you need to find the "Heater and A/C programmer" It's on the right side of the dash board behind the glove box. And recheck the grey wire coming directly out of the Programmer. If still nothing with the blower switch on Lo, then either the programmer has failed or its missing a power or ground. You can identify the programmer by its wire coloring and order.

Guess nobody else knows what the problem might be. anyone looking for a 2000 Eldorado only 150,000 miles with no A/C. looks and runs great but awfully hot inside and probably will be cold in the winter.

it's the grey wire at the programmer pin C6 labeled "Lo Temp Sens".
Now if you have no power on the grey wire, you will need to check all the powers and grounds for the programmer, before condemning it. You have.22 volts coming directly out of the programmer? You should have 9 volts on Lo. Is anything else in the car not working? Any check engine light?

I have .22 volts on low which is not much. not sure what I should have.

Everything else on the car works fine and it runs great. is the programmer the large Silver Box? I have no labels on it check three gray wires range from 5 volts on one to .5 on other nothing is labeled on the box no C6 or lo temp. probably testing wrong component.

Go by the wiring colors to make sure it's the right module, like this, the first 2 are grey, next light blue, then light green/white, etc. those 2 first grey wires should be 5 volts, that's the reference circuit. We have to make sure the module has all the proper powers and grounds, that's why this is so important.

Here's everything you need to check at the Programmer Module, in the 1st picture, all the time battery power coming in on C3 orange wire, ignition power going out 3 light green wires, and a ground black/white wire. Same as 2nd picture, its all labeled for you. The 2 wires at the top ones grey the others green are very important that they both have 5 volts with the key on or running.

According to this it actually seems to be above the gas pedal, behind the head unit. I'm not sure why they're giving different locations for this thing.

Here's the relearn procedure if you determine you need to replace the Heater and A/C programmer. Let me know what you find out tomorrow.

What's up? Thanks for yesterday you were a great help. I checked the programmer like you said everything was right the programmer is functioning properly as far as the A/C control if I pulled the right box down the color wire chart is not the same as you sent me. I have a part number hopefully you can tell me if it's the right component component UTA PART #601-1250-013 and other number 25661269 did some checking on the# 601 part came back as discontinued . It seems that with the programmer functioning properly my problem might be the A/C control as I can find nothing else wrong. hopefully you can spread some light on this problem.

Does this car have a screen where you can select different options? I'm reading here that it might have its own on board diagnostics. This is the plug you should see on the back of the heater and A/C programmer. The D3 pin is the grey wire for the blower motor control. There is another grey wire there too so make sure its the right one. And check C3 orange wire for Battery +, and D1 Lt Green Battery + with key on. The heater and A/C programmer is right under the radio.

The C3 and D1 checked out don't believe i had anything on the gray wire. I'll let you know tomorrow as I'm done for today. going to pick up another A/C controller tomorrow from an El Dorado same year and model as mine see if it will cure the ill. This is how youre supposed to be able to run On board diagnostics. If it works, ive never tried this. Usually we just use a scan tool for this type of thing.
