Replaced blower motor, resistor and relay. Still has 12v to blower plug even when the key is in the off position. Figuring it is a short to power from another circuit. Any suggestions where to start?

Hi,

If you remove fuse 70 in the under-hood fuse box, does the motor turn off? That is the power supply for the blower motor. Let me know.

Also, I attached a pic below the junction box on the right side of the dash. If the blower fuse doesn't turn it off, start removing one fuse at a time to see which one does.

Let me know.

Joe

Pulling fuse 70 did stop the blower.

Then we don't have a short to a different circuit. I suspect either the connector at the blower motor control module is damaged or the module itself is bad.

If you look below, I attached the directions for the removal and replacement of the module. What to do is first disconnect it and inspect the connector. If it appears okay, then suspect the module.

Let me know what you find,

Joe

I have ordered a new module, I will let you know the outcome after I get it. Everything started going wacky after I replaced it. I have checked the connectors several times. So. I may have just got a bad module. Thank you. I will keep you apprised.

Hi,

By chance, did you get the module online? If you did, you certainly could have gotten a bad module. I have seen so many online parts fail right out of the box.

Let me know.

Okay, module replaced and everything works. Thank you for all your help. I was about to pull the last of what little hair I have left out.
