The blower motor comes on and goes off when it wants to.

Why would it come on and go off at any time while you are going down the road?

Hello, I am Danny.
It sounds like the blower motor or the blower motor resistor could be failing. They are both located on the HVAC unit under the dash on the right side. I have attached two different tutorials that show what is involved.
