Automatic climate control, fan will turn on for 3-4 seconds before shutting off. It does this anytime I turn the system off and back on. I’ve read that this body style is famous for melting a connected plug but the only information they give is that it’s behind the glove box. I don’t know which plug it is or where exactly it’s at. Can someone please help me? I don’t want this repair to be more expensive than it has to be. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm not familiar with any connector issues. I checked for technical service bulletins, but none were listed.

Here is what I want you to do: First, on the passenger side, remove the insulator pad under the dash. See pic 1

Next, locate the blower motor under the dash and the connector to it. See pic 2 for blower motor location.

Disconnect the connector and check for any evidence of overheating.

If that isn't the cause, see pic 3 for the HVAC module location. Check the connectors at that point as well. However, I suspect if there is an issue, it will be at the blower motor.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
