Blocking outside air icon?

With the AC off the system opens the vent that pulls in outside air. Where your washers spat is over the area that the system draws in air. They shut the vent to keep the system from pulling in any of the fluid or vapor from it. Actually that is a good idea as some of the fluids out there really reek and some have additives like Rain-X that some people are allergic to. It also would keep the stuff out of the HVAC filter so you wouldn't have to smell it for the next week. The message pops up so that you don't wonder why airflow suddenly changes. If you have the blower turned up when it changes you probably can hear it as the recirc opens up. That could make some people wonder what is going on so they added the pop-up. Probably has it in the owners manual somewhere.

Yes I just realized there’s a feature on the kia k4 where I have washer fluid in cabin prevention turned on, so that’s probably why I got that message I never noticed it before that’s why I was worried lol I must’ve not paid attention before. Will it show this message if ac is off or while it’s running and attempt to use wiper fluid as well?

Probably will show it whenever you have it set to pull in outside air and use the wipers. For me it would get annoying to see it, especially in the winter when the constant salt spray on the windshield needs the washers every few minutes. Still better than one of my first cars that had a foot pump and a glass jar as part of the washer system! But that car didn't have a single computer in it either.

Ok great thanks for the info!!! I realize now it’s a feature I turned on so I could prob just turn it off to avoid that notification
