Will a block from a 2008 Avenger FWD 2.7 fit and work in my 2008 Chrysler 300 rwd 2.7?

Hi,

If you are referring to only the engine block, I see no reason why it wouldn't. If you are changing engines, there will likely be sensor issues.

Let me know if that helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

My 2008 Chrysler 300 2.7l locked up and upon further inspection, I've found that the only damage is the pistons locked up inside the block. So, if I were to buy a 2008 Avenger 2.7l front wheel drive block, could I place all of my working components of my locked-up engine on that block and it work?

Hi,

You should be able to. Obviously, you don't want to take the replacement engine apart, but the injectors, intake, sensors, and so on should work on it.

Let me know if this helps. The only other things that may need to be changed are the exhaust manifolds and the oil pan.

Let me know how things turn out for you.

Take care,

Joe

I wanted to throw in some more info. The donor engine is only a block so it will already be taken apart, so the way I'm seeing it the only other thing I will need to purchase is pistons, correct?

Hi,

That is a tough question to answer. I don't know what happened to cause the lock-up. There are many different possible causes. All of which would likely require additional parts.

You may have damage to the cylinder heads/valves, crankshaft, bearings, camshafts, timing gears/chain, and the list goes on.

Let me know.
