First thing we need to know is if there are any trouble codes related to your issue, if you haven't checked for trouble codes yet.

The flashing D actually is the equivalent to the check engine light but for the transmission instead however the instructions for the check engine light will work similarly to the check engine light. I have a few suspects that could cause the issue you are experiencing. the first one is the range switch which tells the computer which gear you have selected, if the computer doesn't know you have put the transmission into drive then it won't tell it to shift. Another likely suspect could be one of the speed sensors in the transmission, there are two of them and if either are faulty this can cause shifting issues also. There are also shift solenoids that can cause a no shift condition so the main thing that would help us is to find out what codes are in the computer.
