The air on the drivers side started blowing hot when the AC was on. I bought a new actuator and hooked it up. Still no change. I have learned that the heat will blow out of the defrost and the floor as well when the AC is on. I tested the actuator out while holding it. It never turns when I switch from AC to heat. Does this mean something else is the problem?

I have tested the actuator again. When it is connected to power it will turn all the way to one side and then turn all the way to the other side. After that it will not move again. I have tried pulling the fuse to re calibrate and it still does not move. The only way I can get it to move is to open the actuator up and manually position it in the center. Once I do that it will do the same thing and stick on one side. So am I to assume the controller is going bad? Would that cause this to happen for all the vents on the driver side?

It sounds like the controller is going bad. Here is a diagram to help you get it changed out. I would try a used one because they do not go out that often.

Here is another guide that can help:

Please let us know what happens.
