Blend Door Actuator Calibration?

Hello there. I’m going to be replacing an actuator in the car listed above (LT) because of that dreadful clicking noise that seems to happen with these vehicles. That’s all fine, but then I heard that you have to calibrate the actuators. I have a Bluedriver scan tool, but I don’t think that would work. I hear other things such as pulling a fuse or disconnecting the negative battery cable. I’m not sure what the proper way is. If anyone can help, I’d appreciate it.

Yep, it looks pretty easy but there is scan tool required. here is how to calibrate the actuator:

Calibration Procedure

Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
3. Select HVAC Control Module.
4. Select Special Functions.
5. Select recalibrate All Motors.
6. Select on, wait 60 seconds.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. I would try to do the repair with the battery disconnected and then once you are done leave the battery disconnected overnight. This will discharge the capacitors in the system and allow it to reboot. Let me know how it goes. I think that will work.
