When the A/C is on Max, it blows lukewarm air

I recently replaced the blend door gears on the driver and passenger side as they both were broken. I then took it in to have my A/C recharged (I had a new engine put in and most of the fluid was dumped out) the passenger side is working perfectly now, but the driver's side is not. When on max A/C the air is lukewarm, it's not cold but it's not hot. I have a new blend door actuator that I have not installed yet. I originally bought it because I thought that was the problem, but the gears were actually broken. I did not install it hoping the gears would fix the problem. Would installing that fix this problem or is it coming from something else?

Hi,

Chances are that is the problem, but here is what I question. When you select Max A/C, basically all you are doing is recirculating the cabin air. When you go to regular A/C, fresh air is used.

Does it work normally when you are not in Max A/C? Let me know. Also, let me know if you removed the recirculation actuator when you worked on the vehicle. It may need to be recalibrated. However, I feel it will require a scan tool with the proper programming.

Let me know.

Hi,

When it’s just on the lowest setting without the max A/C it still isn’t cold. And then if I set it too high the air is lukewarm but the heat setting before high, which is 84, it is hot air. I did not have the did not have the actuator recalibrated, unless they did that when I took it in to have the A/C fluids filled and charged after replacing the engine.

Hi,

If the system is running, cycling, and fully charged, the actuator is my first suspect. However, there still could be an issue with the pressures. By chance, do they indicate the low side and high side pressures with the A/C on?

Take a look through this link. You may find it of interest.

Let me know.
