I'm getting the clicking sound, more like banging, but I read a motor replacement article that mentioned a plastic gear set that could be broken. How can I check this so that I don't replace the wrong part?

Good morning,

There are several actuators. Do you know which one? Try changing modes or temperature and see if the noise changes. That will help narrow the one that is making noise. this guide can help and video can help.

I would have to say the first view. The sound is under the glove-box.

With the noise happening, put your hand on it and see if you can feel the ticking.

That will confirm it.
