What position should my controls on the dash be in when I replace The actuator? Should the dial be on heat or should it be on A/C ?

Hi,

If I recall, the gear has a slit in it and will only go in one way. Here is what it says in the manual:

Air Mix Door
1. Install air mix door motor on heater unit and connect it to the main harness.
Make sure lever of air mix door is fitted into the slit of the air mix door link
2. Turn the ignition switch on.
3. Slide temperature control lever to full cold.
4. Check that the air mix door operates properly when the temperature control lever is slid to full hot and full cold.
