The actuator does not move when I select any temperatures between high and low it always stays at the lowest position until I get to high then it moves all the way to high without any stops in between. Then it starts blowing heat, this issue happens both on the passenger and drivers side. I have opened the passenger side actuator and I see no visible defects.

Hi,

The idea that the actuator is moving indicates that isn't the issue. It is controlled by the HVAC module. Here is what I recommend: You should have the vehicle's can-bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. If there is a problem within the HVAC control module, it should be identified by a diagnostic trouble code.

Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

Now, there is a calibration procedure that can be done in the event the actuator is replaced. However, it requires a scan tool that can communicate with the HVAC module. So we are back to step one, scanning the can-bus. If you have a scanner that can read these codes, it should also be able to recalibrate.

If you look at the attachment below, it explains how the recalibration is done. I highlighted points of interest.

Let me know if you have questions or I can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe
