I have never built an engine before, and I have a 454 I plan on building a building very similar to the big block build video. I was wondering what the compression ratio was and what octane fuel you run on the build. Thank you.

Hey there!

Thank you for watching the series! So, on my big block I was running about 10:1 so I could run 91 pump gas commonly found around where I live and be fine. In my opinion anything 11:1 and below is fine for 91-92 octane. I had a LS that was exactly 11:1 and I ran that on 91 all day it was really good.

If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan
