We've been told that the left front axle is bent, and that we need the whole differential to fix the problem. They told us the right side is straight, but there is a small bend in the left side that is causing the tire to sit uneven. Before i spend an exhorbitant price for a whole differential, i would like a second opinion, and was curious why we can't just replace the left axle?

How did it get bent?

Was the truck in a collision or suffer some kind of impact?

We don't know. The garage said they believe it hit something?

That's entirely possible. Get another inspection and a second opinion
