BCM interchangeable

Is a BCM interchangeable with any year on Pontiac grandam or GM models?

Good afternoon,

If you are thinking of getting a used BCM, you will need the exact number on the module itself.

If you find one, then the used one needs to be flashed to your VIN number to work. Flashing a used BCM has about a 50-50 chance of working. Most dealers will not touch it unless it is a new one.

I attached the module from Rock Auto. The OEM GM numbers are there for you to match up.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Closeout(Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Warning Indicators.
3. Remove the body control module (BCM) (2).
4. Disconnect the BCM connectors from the BCM.
