Battery replacement

While trying to replace the battery I discovered that the positive cable has a different connection to the battery than the negative cable. How do you disconnect this?

Can you describe what you are referring to? Do you mean a different tool is needed? If your battery has top posts and you're finding they are different sizes, the positive post is always larger in diameter than the negative post. Be careful to not connect the cables backward as that has the high potential to destroy a lot of computers.

There are three wires on the connector which does not secure to the post like the negative.

Those wires are bolted to the clamp which is bolted to the post. Do not remove the nut holding the three wires. Just unbolt the clamp like you did on the other post.

The clamp does not have a bolt/nut. It has what looks like a handle that might lift up to swing around.
