I replaced the battery and now I have a wrench and engine light. When I put it in drive I have no acceleration.

Hi,

That is an odd one. Have you tried scanning the computer to determine what diagnostic codes are stored? If the check engine light is on, there will be at least one code.

Also, recheck your work. Make sure nothing around or under the battery was disconnected or damaged.

If nothing is found, then we need to scan the computer.

Here is a link that explains how to scan the entire can-bus system:

If you don't have access to a scan tool, even a generic one, see if a local parts store will lend one to you. Often times they will.

Let me know.

Hi, I got 2.codeam P2104 and P2112....I put my question into another forum, and everyone is saying I need to disconnect battery negative for 5 minutes. Turn on lights to drain excess power, then reconnect battery and start truck and light idle for 15 minutes and it resets everything. Does this sound correct?

Hi,

I never heard of that, but anything is possible. Once the battery neg is disconnected, turning the light switch on won't complete any circuits, so I'm not sure where that came from. I do know that if you disconnect both terminals, tie them together with a zip tie, which will drain any capacitors that may be retaining power.

The codes you have are both related to the throttle actuator control system (TAC). Double check that none of the wiring has been damaged or disconnected. Also, if you had the air inlet tube off, make sure nothing is preventing the throttle plate to be stuck. The P2111 indicates the throttle body is stuck open.

Let me know.
