After driving about one hundred miles the battery light came on for about one minute and the volt meter gauge dropped to about 10 volts. When I slowed down to a stop it went to about 14 volts. About ten minutes later the battery light stayed on for a minute and went off while the gauge dropped to about 10 volts. It seems when the volts drop and I slow down, the volts go to about 14.
The battery is a year old and alternator about four years old. Your help is appreciated.

Thank you

Sam

First clean and re-tighten all the battery cable connections, then have the alternators output tested as well as the battery load tested. It sounds like a loose connection and GM battery cables are a PIA because any acid leakage goes into the cable ends and eats them inside the insulation.
Also, check the ground connections at each end of the instrument panel. Have seen a bad connection there cause issues as well.
