Battery and alternator were replaced 6 months ago. Somehow the battery light turns on and off in a day, then it won't turn on for a few days and comes back on. Went to Auto Zone to test battery and everything is good, including starter and alternator. They don't know why it turns on. Any idea of what's triggering the light? No other warning lights are on. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Since it is intermittent, chances are we have a poor connection at some point. Open the hood and first inspect the battery connections to make sure they are tight and free of corrosion.

Also, check the connectors at the alternator. Note: I would recommend disconnecting the negative battery terminal before moving things around on the alternator. You will power at the alternator at all times directly from the battery. If the battery is disconnected, it is safer to check.

I attached a pic below. The highlighted wires will have power.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
