Battery cable replacement

Hi, I need help on how to replace my faulty positive battery cable. A diagram showing solenoid and engine location.

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for positive battery cable replacement. Please make sure to follow the directions to make sure the battery is disconnected before starting the procedure. The attached pictures correlate with these directions.

BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE REPLACEMENT
Battery Positive Cable Replacement (4.3L)

Removal Procedure

Picture 1

1. Unbolt and reposition the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable (4).
3. Loosen the positive battery cable (1) bolt and remove the positive battery cable from the battery.
4. Remove the positive battery cable clip (5) from the battery tray.
5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Remove the starter solenoid nut.
7. Remove the positive battery cable from the starter.
8. Lower the vehicle.

9. Reposition the positive battery cable boot (2) at the generator.
10. Remove the generator nut (3).
11. Remove the positive battery cable (1) from the generator.

12. Remove the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC) cover.
13. Remove the positive battery cable to UBEC nut (1).
14. Remove the positive battery cable from the UBEC.
15. Remove the positive battery cable clips (2 and 3) from the fan shroud.
16. Remove the positive battery cable (4) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the positive battery cable (4) to the vehicle.
2. Install the positive battery cable clips (2 and 3) to the fan shroud.
3. Install the positive battery cable to the UBEC.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the positive battery cable to UBEC nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 5 N.M (44 lb in).

5. Install the UBEC cover.

6. Install the positive battery cable (1) to the generator.
7. Install the generator nut (3).

Tighten the nut to 12 N.M (106 lb in).

8. Position the positive battery cable boot (2) at the generator.
9. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

10. Install the positive battery cable to the starter.
11. Install the starter solenoid nut.

Tighten the nut to 9 N.M (80 lb in).

12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Install the positive battery cable clip (5) to the battery tray.
14. Position the positive battery cable to the battery and tighten the positive battery cable (1) bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 17 N.M (12 lb ft).

15. Connect the negative battery cable (4).
16. Position and install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
