My boyfriend drives a Ford F150 he left his lights on which drained his battery so we took the battery out of my mamaw's car listed above to see if we could get his truck to start. It would not. So we put the battery back into her car (it is a new battery). Now the her car will not start, not even with jumper cables. What has happened?

Bench charge the battery, check battery terminals are correct and clean and tight and see how this helps. Post back what you find or further assistance.

No my mamaw ended up hiring a mechanic. Which I'm afraid is trying to break one off in her. Right now the bill stands at $400.I'm terrified this man is a crook and is going to try and get a mechanics lean on her car. He claims to have replaced the fuse box under her hood. The alternator the battery the fuses and he still isn't half way finished with the repairs. Her speedometer doesn't work nor does her head lights windshield wiper or anything in the dash for that matter. And she hasn't saw any of the parts that he has claimed to replace. And her car is still having trouble cranking and it takes a few minutes after she starts the car to have power steering

I have found if you stand in the guys shop and call the police and tell them your car is being held hostage they will show up and sort the problem out. After that the mechanic will either give the car back or fix it and send you on your way. Trust me it works great. To me though it sounds like the battery cables were connected backwards at one point.
