A month later the battery goes bad?

We have had issues with our car dying for the last 4 months. We have changed the battery twice and replaced the alternator. We bring it into the mechanics and then a month later the battery goes bad. On our last trip we were told to go to an electrical mechanic because they think something is slowly draining the battery. Now our battery will charge but will die with 10 minutes of driving it. The car died while driving a few times in the last week. I don't feel like something would be draining the battery this fast while driving it.

Hi,

It sounds like the alternator isn't working. I realize it is new, but it is regulated via the powertrain control module (PCM). If there is a problem with the module, it can overcharge, undercharge, or not charge at all. If it isn't charging, the drain on the battery from the vehicle is running and all the electronics will cause it to fail.

Here is what I need you to do. Follow the directions in this link and let me know the results.

All you need is a voltmeter or multimeter. If you can't do this, we need to have it tested at an automotive parts store. Most do it for free, but the vehicle will need to be there and running for the test.

Let me know.
