The leather of the base that holds two screws with which to raise the car and lower it is ruined. I want to replace it and I do not know how to change it?

Hi,

Are you referring to the bezel or the height switch itself? I attached directions below for the removal and replacement of the trim panel. It is clipped into place.

If I have the wrong part, let me know. If you can take a picture of what you are referring to, it will help.

Also, the last two pics are the directions for the removal of the accessory switch bezel.

Let me know.

Joe

These videos are for the problem I am experiencing. I want the part number so I can buy it because I asked the spare parts stores and they did not know it, and also I do not know how to extract it and replace it with the new one.

Hi,

I believe the GM part number is 20829013. They refer to it as an insulator.

As far as replacement, you need to first remove the torsion bars. They are under tension. Once they are removed, unbolt one side at a time to remove the bolt from the cross member. If you can't, remove the old bushing and install the new one. However, you may need a press to remove it and install the new one.

If you look below, I attached the directions for torsion bar replacement. You aren't replacing them, but this is the only way I have the directions for removal/installation. I highlighted the bushings in the pics. Also, you will need to rent a special tool. See directions starting with pic 2. Pic 1 shows part.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

If you remove the cross member, a hydraulic press as seen in pic 1 would work. If you don't remove it, I personally would try using something like a ball joint press. (See pic 2).

Keep in mind, you may not even need one. If it is snug, you can even try to tap it out with a good ball peen hammer.

Let me know what I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe

If you come with a hammer and a circular piece of the same shape as this picture and put it over the skin and hit it with the hammer, do you think it helps my friend or should I bring this hydraulic compressor?

You can try it. Make sure what you use is slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the bushing. Otherwise, the tool will likely get stuck.

Let me know what I can do to help.
