Bank 1 (firewall) oil control solenoid valve

I am getting P0011 - bank 1 only.A local garage removed oil control solendoid bank 1 (against the firewall) and showed me that the coil was open with a DVM. Infinite ohms=open coil so. The solenoid is bad, I have a new one do I have to remove the intake manifold to replace the intake valve timing control solenoid valve. I just want the procedure to replace the bank one valve. Can it be done without remove the intake?

Valve is at side of cyslinder and not obstructed by the intake manifold.

Thanks for the reply. I did it, 3-10mm bolts one connector - took me about an hour! No ceheck Engine light for 5 days now! No I need to get some cold air out of the A/C! Thanks for your advise!
