Bad engine miss

Car ran decently, a little weak, intake gasket was changed, car has had a miss ever since. It cranks and idles, but when you put it in gear it sputters and shuts off. Car can be driven by constantly patting the gas pedal.

Hi and thank you for using 2carpros.com Since you replaced the intake gasket, I would recommend checking engine vacuum to make sure there are no leaks. If you have a bad leak, it can do what you described. Keep in mind, whoever did the work may have simply forgot to reconnect a hose or the new gasket may have failed.
