Bad idle and black smoke

My car is blowing black smoke, backfiring and idling badly.

Black smoke is usually an indicator that you are getting excessive fuel in the engine. The other symptoms can also be caused by that. You would need to test a few parts to find out if the extra fuel is coming from a bad fuel pressure regulator or from a leaking or stuck fuel injector(s).
