I have been noticing that when I sometimes brake hard the car will clunk sometimes as if something is knocking against the frame or the front end of the car when I stop, as if something moved forward. Did some research online and did this test on my car where I hit the brakes and the gas at the same and as you can see in the attached video, the engine moves quite a bit. I remember replacing all of the mounts last year, and I replaced the T-bone looking mount on top of the engine as well. What do you all think?

Good evening,

From your video, that is normal wear for the mounts.

Where does the noise sound like it is coming from?

I would have the lower control arm bushings, struts, and frame mounts.

I had all four shocks/struts along with the strut mounts and brand new control arms with new bushings installed early last year. would it be that?

It is possible, but I would have them checked anyway.

Also, have them check the sub-frame mounts for wear or being loose.

Hi, another thing I forgot to mention was that my car clunked whenever I switch from park to reverse, reverse to drive, and vice versa. Last weekend I had all three mounts replaced (the two engine mounts and transmission mount), I still have that clunk noise whenever I shift gears. Any guesses?

Did they make sure the engine idle speed is adjusted correctly?

If the engine is running too fast, it will do this. See if they can check and see if the idle speed is correct.
