My car died on the way to work on Thurs. Battery light came on and called dealer. They said it was fine to drive. Car lasted about 40 miles before stopping. Dealer says I need a new alternator, thermostat and fuel tank vent valve. Battery is less than 2 years old. Charges come to $2,700. Seems really high to me. Thermostat labor is $497 and alternator labor is $523. Love this car but not happy with this bill. Do these charges seem reasonable?

Dealer cost and labor is higher, This price does sound right and I agree its very high.

If you went to the dealer then that is probably correct. It is part of the ownership of a BMW too parts are not cheap either. Sorry
