backup camera RCA video cable

Can you try and attach the pictures again? They did not attach and can you let us know what type of kit this is? If they have instructions that would be great too if you can get some pictures of those and post them as well. Thanks

The first picture is the video RCA cable that runs from the front to the back of the car. The red tail wires are the triggers. I've connected the Yellow RCA cable to the back of the head unit along with the red trigger cable to the reverse cable in the back of the head unit. The question is, the other end. the yellow RCA cable goes to the female RCA yellow cable attached to the backup camera, where does the red til cable go to?
Also, on the second picture the black GND cable and the red reverse light 12V cable, where do they connect. Do I need to install relays?

Okay. That clears it up. The harness in the first picture that you attached is the same portion of the harness in the second picture that connects to the camera and runs the length of the vehicle as you said.

The little red wires on this harness are only to be used if you are connecting to this a DVD player.

The other red wire that says it connects to the reverse light is the actual trigger wire. This wires to the reverse light wire for the lights in the rear of the vehicle that power the reverse light bulbs. So when the reverse lights turn on, the camera gets 12 volts. Then you can just use any ground for the black wire.

Does that make sense?

Okay, now you said the red tail wire attached to the RCA yellow cable is for a DVD but I connected that red wire to a reverse wire in the back of the head unit. How about in the other end of that cable, where does that red tail wire hookup to?

Correct. According to your instructions is says the trigger wire hooks up if you have a DVD player - "If you do not use a DVD player then you do not need to hook the wire up."

The other red wire that has the black wire with it connects to the wire that powers the reverse light. Basically this is a 12 volt wire that only gets voltage when the vehicle is in reverse so that will tell power the camera as well only in reverse. Take a look at the attachment.

I am not sure what reverse light you are talking about behind the radio. You need to hook the reverse light wire back of the vehicle where the actual reverse lights are. Does that make sense?

As in the picture, the 2 red tail wires are triggers for the reverse light so the head unit has a reverse light trigger wire or are you saying to leave the red wire unused as long as the red wire in the back of the vehicle gets connected to the red wire going to the reverse light.

Correct. According to the instructions those two red wires are to be unused unless you are using a DVD player. You only connect the single red wire to the reverse light voltage feed back at the tail light.

I've installed an aftermarket head unit onto my vehicle. I am about to install a backup camera now. So,I can connect the yellow RCA cable to the back of the head unit and the red tail wire attached to the video cable to the reverse wire on the back of the head unit to act as a trigger. If I wanted to access the backup camera at all times and not only when the reverse gear is initiated, should i object the red tail wire to the accessory red wire in back of the head unit as well?

I understand what you want to do, but not how. When you say, "I object the red tail wire to the accessory red..." what do you mean?

The only way I can think of to have access at any time would be to provide a constant power supply to the camera feed on the rear of the unit. Then, you will need to put some type of switch in it so you can control power to it. Otherwise, it will be on all the time.

Yes, I'm sorry about the type-o. I meant to say connect and not object. So, if connected, it would drain out the battery because it will be on all the time. You mean like a relay to turn the camera on at any given time?
Can I also connect the red tail wire to the accessory red wire in the back of the head unit to give it power at any given time?
