I changed spark plugs, still having a misfire on cylinder five. when I pull the wire from cylinder five while it is running the backfire disappears. would this be bad wires?

Pulling the ignition lead away stops the spark and the misfire will also stop, that creates a bad cylinder, the misfire can be due to many things, the lead end may be faulty, high resistance in the ignition lead, faulty spark plug gap, bad injector, compression leak, vacuum leak, all will have to be checked to find the cause.
