The switch inside does not work and I cannot get the key to work either. I need to get it open to replace a brake light bulb. Please help.

When you use the key can you push in on the liftgate to help replace the latch? Does the key turn all the way?

Please report back.

Thanks for getting back with me Ken. The key did turn all the way. I had to turn the back wiper switch on and off three times to get the glass to go down with the key to open the hatch. I am afraid it is electrical.

Yes, it sounds like it. Lets check the fuses first.

If the fuses are okay lets test the wiring and power. You will need to remove the inner door panel to work on the latch to get it to open this can be a little cumbersome but hang in there you will get it.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please run some tests and get back to us.

Cheers, Ken
