Backfires when I accelerate full throttle?

My truck starting backfiring when I get on the gas pretty hard. doesn’t do it at idle and doesn’t do it when driving normal just when I get on the gas real heavy. what could be the problem?

Good morning,

This is usually a result of a worn camshaft or lifter not moving the valves enough for producing power.

I would remove the valve covers and insect the movement of the rocker arms while cranking to see if there are any that are not moving the full distance.
