Rear driver side brakes are metal to metal can I drive without the brake pads

My back driver side brakes are metal to metal on my rotor, I want to know can i still drive the car if i take the brake pads off the back driver side?

Hi and welcome to 2CarPros. I do not know if I understood the question? Are you talking about removing the brake pads and driving your vehicle like that? The answer is no. You will damage the caliper piston and it can just blow out causing loss of brakes. If your metal to metal I recommend you tow it over to your mechanic.

Okay. understandable, but if i get new brakes and wait to change the rotor would it get me by until i can get a new rotor?

If it is just barely started I have seen some people just slap pads on it. I wouldn't recommend it but that will be something for you to examine the damage to the rotor and make that call yourself.

Hi, so I checked my tire out and realized that the brakes on the driver side rear is touching the rotor, but the brake pad it self is still good. what could it be? i was thinking the caliper.

Your rotors could be dished out already causing the pad backing to rub on the lip. Can you upload a picture so we can see please?
