Symptoms include the airbag light comes on and stays on immediately after clearing BCM codes. BCM throws code B1000 immediately after clearing. No other codes ever pop up, even after months (except p0446 in the ECM). I swapped the BCM with a tested used good one (same part number) and ran the 30-minute passkey relearn procedure. No change.

The previous owner has clearly been messing around. They've bypassed the horn and put in a crappy button and weak sounding horn which makes proper road rage impossible to achieve. And the car will randomly pop the trunk. Even when I'm driving 70mph I'll hear it. It is one of the few Century Customs with a trunk pop button and a key fob.

Fob works btw. As do its functions. After getting rear ended by a guy in a full-sized van awhile back, I want working air bags. He destroyed his front end btw and I can't find a scratch on this car.

Hi,

If you look below, I provided the description and diagnostics for the code. The BCM isn't the issue. It is what is setting the code, but the problem is coming from the inflatable restraint and diagnostic module.

Take a look at the pics below and let me know your thoughts.

Take care,

Joe

Well, that definitely fits. Guess I have a spare BCM for my 22 99 Centuries now. Maybe. Could you get me a picture and location or how to? The car is in immaculate condition except this and a code p0456 and I'd like to make it right. It would best amazing for a 25 year old car that I bought out of someone's front yard.

Sure, here is the location for the BCM which is under the dash on the left side of the steering column. Please start a new question for the code p0456.

This guide can help as well:

Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

Sorry Ken, I should've been more clear. I need the information on the inflatable restraint and diagnostic module. I've already swapped the BCM and it didn't solve the issue.
