It makes a high screeching sound when I try to start, comes from the left side close to the left tire. I turned the key over and over trying to start frustrated when it started to make this awful sound screech.

Hi,

Does this only happen when you are trying to start it or after it starts? I ask because there are two different things it could be.

If it happens after it starts, it is likely a loose belt caused by a failed belt tensioner. If it is while the starter is engaged, then the starter may be failing.

If possible, record the sound and upload it for me to hear. I will be able to tell if it is one of these. Also, if it is after the engine starts, with the engine off, check the belt to see if it is loose.

Let me know.
