Average cost to repair a differential

Checked fluid in differential after hearing a rubbing metal sound coming from the under carriage, after checking differential fluid level noticed metal shavings on the plug, and in the fluid. What I would like to know is how much im looking at top repair or replace differential?

First, it is normal to see some wear on the plug, however, if you hear a noise, then it could be more involved. To replace all the bearings in the differential will cost you about 100. In parts. Figure about 3 hours labor to do the work.
