I HAVE THE 1979 PAPER AMC JEEP SERVICE MANUAL.I SHOULD BE SHOT FOR NOT TAKING CARE OF IT WHEN IT 1ST FELL INTO MY LAP BACK IN 1983.I STILL HAVE IT, BUT I MUST BE GENTLE WITH IT, IT'S FALLING APART
I REALLY HATE IT THAT AS SOON AS I GIVE UP THE "ARK", YOU WILL NOT NEED ME FOR ANY MORE BASIC STUFF
I DO HAVE SOME TRICKS AND REALLY GOOD MODIFICATIONS I CAN SHARE---STUFF YOU MAY BE IGNORANT OF ALSO ABOUT YOUR JEEP!
SO. THE MANUAL IS WRITTEN VERY WELL. IT DON'T FORGET AND LEAVE OUT STUFF EITHER, LIKE I MIGHT. IT IS THE BEST REFERENCE YOU CAN HAVE FOR YOUR JEEP, SHY OF OWNING THE PAPER VERSION
IF YOU WILL REALLY SLOWLY POUR OVER THE TROUBLESHOOTING STUFF---AND INSURE IT IS THE CORRECT ITEM AND THE CORRECT VEHICLE YOU ARE READING ABOUT. YOU WILL DO WELL!
OK HERE'S THE DEAL---MORRIS 4X4 HAS SQUARED US AWAY. MAINLY YOU.I HAVE THE PAPER ONE
GO TO "MORRIS 4X4 CENTER"
SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND LOOK UNDER "RESOURCES"
CLICK ON "ONLINE REPAIR MANUALS"
AFTER THE PAGE CHANGE
SCROLL A LITTLE TO "ONLINE REPAIR MANUAL"
SELECT "JEEP CJ 7"
SELECT "1980". AS IT IS THE SAME AS '79
SELECT "CHASSIS-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION"
NOW SCROLL THE WHOLE PAGE DOWN TO THE NEXT BLOCK
YOU ARE IN!
LOOK AT TROUBLESHOOTING REALLY GOOD---AS WELL AS TESTING
THE PAGES YOU WANNA LOOK AT 1ST ARE "2C-16" --- "2C-18"
THEN GO BACK THRU THE TRANNY PAGES TO SEE HOW TO TEST AND REPAIR
THE WHOLE JEEP SHOULD BE THERE!
YOU CAN EVEN PRINT PAGES
I FIGURE IT WILL BE MUCH BETTER IF YOU HEAR THE COMPLETE "REAL DEAL" FROM THE ENGINEERS. NOT ME!
SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS---SHOOT 'EM BACK HERE----I DEAL WITH MANUAL TRANNYS 99.9% OF THE TIME (NOT MUCH ON AUTOMATICS).I'LL ATTEMPT TO GIVE YOU ANSWERS. PLEASE INCLUDE THE PAGE NUMBER IN THE ONLINE MANUAL YOU ARE REFERRING TO
I MADE YOU A SCREENSHOT OF THE PLACE YOU NEED TO GO TO
LEMME KNOW IF THIS HELPS
