Vehicle was in limp mode and only would drive in reverse or 3rd gear. Removed gear box and clutches were worn but not burnt out. Replaced all clutches and gaskets etc. Refitted but still in limp mode. Replaced selector switch on gear box and tried another trans control module. Checked all wiring from gear box to trand module. Still no change when in drive. Noticed there is no indication on the dash for what position the gear box is in. Could it need a solenoid in the valve body?
Please help?
NOEL.

Hi,

Please understand, this truck isn't offered in the US, so I have no manuals to follow. However, I will try my best to help.

The idea that there is no gear indicator lighting, either we have an issue with a simple fuse, or the transmission range sensor is faulty. That can prevent it from going into gear properly and only working in limp mode.

On most vehicles, the range sensor is located where the shift linkage attaches to the shift lever. Check in that area and let me know if you are seeing any electrical connectors.

Take care,

Joe
