Chuck, the doors lock automatically when the shifter is moved out of park (or at 5 kph on manual transmission cars). Doors unlock automatically when key is removed from the ignition. The auto door locks are Programmable the doors can be programmed to not lock automatically when the shifter moves out of park (or at 5 kph on manual transmission cars). Doors will not unlock automatically when key is removed from the ignition.
The auto lock and unlock functions are customer programmable independent of each other. They come from the factory enabled.
To enable/disable the lock feature, depress the power lock button for eight seconds while the key is in the accessory or "on" position/with engine off.
To enable/disable the unlock feature, depress the power unlock button for eight seconds while the key is in the accessory or "on" position/with engine off.
In both cases, the horn will blow once to confirm enabled, and twice to confirm disabled.
Let us know if this is a normal function of the door locks.
