Hi, when my car is in drive and I stop the car on a level road, the car remains stationary even after I take my foot of the brake pedal. Then I have to press on the accelerator for it to move. Being an auto transmission, the car should start moving forward slowly as soon as I release the brake.

You may have a tight brake, can you easily push the car in neutral? on the flat it should move very easily once it gets going.

May be low lie pressure, problem with the transmission oil pump or the governor, low liner pressure will not drive the transmission.

I have seen the transmission clutches being burnt up which will cause this issue, also make sure transmission fluid level is correct, can I ask if the engine idle is supe low, like at 400 rpm?
