Audio System (AM Radio) no reception?

My AM radio has virtually no reception. 10 percent of the time it will work. It will be static for 1 second and then it seems like either noise reduction or an amplifier in the audio chain will kick in. Most of the time though it's nothing. I was wondering what the problem could be and if it's something easy to fix. I just have the standard audio system that has a full display (touch screen) with Android Audio and Apple audio and XM radio.

It sounds like the combination media antenna/Glass antenna is not working or going out. You might want to try to remove the radio unit and check the connections at the rear of the unit, if everything looks okay here is how to change out the radio antenna. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
