1996 Other Audi Models oil pressure light

i have an audi 80 coupe 2.0l 8v year 1996 109 000 miles, the problem is when the engine heats up the oil pressure warning light comes on , when i press the accelerator pedal the light goes off, there is also an oil leak coming from the sump gasket , is this linked and do u think i will have to replace he engine?[img:575c357f41]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/173519_Image008_1.jpg[/img:575c357f41]

Hi there,

first have the oil pressure tested with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to engine oil pressure, you may just have a faulty switch, The sump leak will not affect the pressure reading, but should be attended to non the less.
