Should I have had a warning light for rear brake problem affecting only left rear brake, inside rotor gauled, pad needs replacement, discovered problem when significant scraping noise started abruptly

If your car has the low brake probe fitted into the pads, this will set the warning if it contact the rotor on any wheel, also check that the brake fluid is not low as this will also set the warning, change pads as a set and replace any warning probes. machine the rotor but make sure that is is still with in thickness guidelines.
