2000 Audi A6 Cold shift

When eng/trans is cold transmission hesitates before shifting, usually shifts around 3k rpm if I leave in auto but I manually shift until warm-up. Once warmed up shifts perfectly.

How much milage on trans fluid? Worn seals inside trans can cause pressure loss when cold also.
