GENERATOR
Removal & Installation (A4)
Removal and installation is basically an unbolt and bolt-on procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
Removal & Installation (A6)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air intake duct. Remove 10 screws retaining under-car splash shield and remove splash shield.
Place lock carrier in service position. Remove connector bolt. Install Alignment Tool (3369). Remove Torx bolts.
Remove remaining bolts and pull lock carrier forward. Tighten lock-down bolts on left and right side to place lock carrier in service position.
Remove serpentine belt. Disconnect wiring from generator. On A/C equipped vehicles, remove A/C line bracket and position A/C line out of way.
Cut cable tie-wraps from generator/starter harness and position harness out of way. Remove upper and lower generator bolt. Remove generator from bottom of engine compartment.
To, install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure generator/starter harness is tie-wrapped in proper position. Tighten upper and lower generator bolts to specification.
