1998 Audi A6 brake pads simbol is on

Hi, I just change front brake pads. The ones I've got did not have sensors in them. Can i just short the contacts in the wires which go to the pads? I'd like to get rid of this simbol in my dashboard. Thanks.

Some sensors can be removed from the old pads and put into the cut-out on the new ones, if not, I would get the right pads and forget the cheapo pads.
