2007 Audi A4 thinking battery????

I got in my car today it acted like it did not want to start well it didnt the first time.. so i turned it off and tried it again it started right up took it to advanced auto they said it was the battery but i would not let them put one it i thought it might be the altornator i let it sit for awhile and it tried it later it did the same thing but after that then it wont start at all whats the problem

The only way to tell is get both of them load tested-
